Sounds Open Eight-Game Homestand On Friday Evening

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds return to Greer Stadium this Friday evening to open an eight-game homestand that includes four-game series against both the Albuquerque Isotopes (AAA-Marlins) and the New Orleans Zephyrs (AAA-Mets).

Friday's series opener against Albuquerque is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and fans are invited to participate in Purity Faith Night. Local Christian music favorite Michael W. Smith will be hosting a special event featuring local Christian artists to raise money for his Rocketown venue, which was founded by Smith in 2003 as a safe haven for teenagers. The 40,000 square foot building in downtown Nashville acts as a music venue, skate park, coffee shop, and youth center.

Following the conclusion of the game, Sounds fans are invited to stay for a spectacular fireworks show sponsored by Your Select Buick-Pontiac-GMC Dealers. All fans will receive a complimentary loaf of Sara Lee bread as they exit the stadium.

At Saturday night's 6 p.m. contest, gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the first 2,000 fans through the turnstiles with receive art prints of the Applebee's Hometown Hero for the 2007 season. The "Home Team Hero" award is given to the Sound who best exemplifies the community spirit of the franchise.

Saturday is also Reading Club Day and all participants in the Nashville Sounds Reading Club who have achieved their reading goals are invited to march in a pre-game parade on the field honoring their achievements and receive one free ticket to the game.

All fans are invited to stay after Saturday's game for a spectacular fireworks show, presented by Your Select Buick-Pontiac-GMC Dealers.

Sunday's game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and Ozzie is inviting all children to Ozzie's Back to School Bash. All children in attendance will receive a free Ozzie bank while supplies last, a private Ozzie autograph session, a buffet picnic, and one free ticket to the game. Every Sunday during the 2007 season is Purity Sundae Sunday. Purity Dairies will be at Greer Stadium offering Sounds fans ice cream sundaes for only $1 throughout the game.

Monday's series finale against the Isotopes is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. Every Monday during the 2007 season is H.G. Hill Monday and Sounds fans can receive a buy-one, get-one free ticket offer for up to four tickets simply by presenting an H.G. Hill receipt.

Monday is also Dollar Dog Night. Hot dogs are only $1 at concession stands throughout Greer Stadium for the entire length of the game.

Tuesday's series opener against New Orleans is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. It will be our annual Non-Profit Night at Greer Stadium and any 501c(3) organization can request as many complimentary tickets as they can utilize for the game. To participate, non-profit organizations must fax a request letter on letterhead with the contact person's name, address, number of tickets they are requesting, and their 501c3 number to the Sounds' offices at 615-256-5684.

Tuesday is also Top Friends Tuesday and all fans that make the Nashville Sounds one of their top friends on myspace.com can receive a two-for-one ticket offer for up to eight free tickets. Phone orders must be made at least 24 hours in advance and game day purchases must be accompanied by a print out showing the Sounds as one of your top friends.

Following the conclusion of Tuesday's 6:00 p.m. game, Sara Lee will be at the gates of Greer passing out one loaf of bread to each fan as they leave.

Every Thursday during the 2007 season is Thirsty Thursday and all draft beverages throughout Greer Stadium are only $1 until the end of the fifth inning or 8:30 p.m., whichever comes first. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and fans are invited to enjoy the Miller Lite Concert Series before the game. A local band will be on the stage in right field to play a free, one-hour concert prior to the 7:00 p.m. game.

Friday's homestand finale against the Zephyrs is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and the first 5,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive a free baseball-themed comic book from Marvel Comics. The comics will feature popular Marvel characters like Spider Man, The Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, and Iron Man.

Fans are invited to stay after Friday's game for a spectacular firework show provided by Your Select Pontiac-Buick-GMC Dealers.

Following the homestand, Nashville sets out on a four-game road trip to take on the Round Rock Express (AAA-Astros). The Sounds will return to Greer Stadium on Wednesday, August 22 to begin a nine-day, ten-game homestand with series against both the Oklahoma RedHawks (AAA-Rangers) and the division-rival Omaha Royals (AAA-Royals).
