MEMPHIS, TN - Reid Brignac had three hits including a fifth inning three run home run to lift the New Orleans Zephyrs to a 5-4 road win against the Memphis Redbirds.
The Z's trailed 2-1 in the fifth inning when the offense awoke sending eight batters to the plate scoring four runs on five hits including the three run home run.
The Z's starter Rob Morey struggled allowing one run on three hits in two innings and left with an injury. Blake Logan picked him up pitching four inning and earned the win. Memphis starter Arturo Reyes allowed five runs on eight hits in six innings in the defeat.
The Z's two - five hitters in the line-up all had at least two hits in the game combining for nine of the ten hits by the New Orleans offense.
The win snapped an eight game road losing streak. The Z's improved to 56-81 and Memphis falls to 67-70.
GAME NOTES
The Z's wrapped up the month of August with a win. The Z's set a club record with losses in a single month with 24. The previous high was 20.
ON DECK
The Zephyrs continue their final roadtrip of the season on Tuesday night. The Zephyrs will take on Memphis at 7:05. New Orleans will start RH Jake Esch (1-1, 3.60) against LH Marco Gonzales (1-4, 5.20). Radio: 106.1 FM
