Iowa Cubs Announce 2016 Home Schedule

DES MOINES, Iowa (Aug. 31, 2015) - With nine games to go in the regular season, and Iowa in the hunt for the American Northern Division crown, the I-Cubs announced their 2016 home schedule on Monday. The I-Cubs' will begin their 36th season as the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs on the Pacific Coast League's Opening Day on April 7 against the Round Rock Express (Texas Rangers).

Notable dates on next year's 72-game slate include Memorial Day, Monday, May 30 against the Albuquerque Isotopes (Colorado Rockies), Independence Day against the Omaha Storm Chasers (Kansas City Royals) and Labor Day, Monday, September 5 against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Milwaukee Brewers).

Iowa will play its seven American Conference rivals for eight games apiece at Principal Park in addition to all four teams from the Pacific Conference Southern Division. The I-Cubs will welcome the El Paso Chihuahuas (San Diego Padres) from May 23-26, the Isotopes from May 27-30, the Las Vegas 51s (New York Mets) from July 14-17 and the Salt Lake Bees (Los Angeles Angels) from July 18-21.

The 2016 schedule features 10 Monday games, 10 on Tuesdays, 9 on Wednesdays, 11 on Thursdays, 10 Fireworks Friday games, 11 Saturday contests and 11 matinees on Sundays.

The full 2016 home schedule with game times will be announced soon. The 2016 Iowa Cubs promotional schedule will be announced in Spring, 2016.

Information on 2016 season tickets and other multi-game ticket packages will be available soon. Single game tickets go on sale March 1.
