Zephyrs to Hold D.A.R.E. Day Tomorrow

Metairie, LA - The New Orleans Zephyrs announced that they will hold their annual D.A.R.E. day at 11:30AM on Wednesday at Zephyr Field. The purpose is to reward Jefferson Parish public school students that have completed the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program.

Over 8,000 Jefferson Parish students will attend the game between the New Orleans Zephyrs and Memphis Redbirds. The following schools will be represented: Airline Park, Alexander, Ames, Birney, Bissonet, Boudreaux, Bridge City, Bridgedale, Butler, Chateau, Cherbonnier, Clancy, Dolhonde, Douglass, Ellender, Ellis, Estelle, Ford, Grand Isle, Green Park, Harahan, Hart, Homedale, Janet, Jefferson, Keller, Lafitte, Lincoln, Live Oak, Maggiore, McDonough, Middleton, Pitre, Pittman, Rillieux, Ruppel, St. Ville, Terrytown, Wall, Washington, Westwego, and Woods.

A number of private schools will also attend the game, including Christ the King, Curtis, Divine Providence, IC, Prompt Succor, St. Agnes, St. Benilde, St. Christopher, St. Clement, St. Edward, St. Matthew, St. Philip, St. Rosalie and Visitation.

The game will be preceded by a short educational program to benefit the attending students.
