LAS VEGAS, Nevada - The Zephyrs pounded out a season high 22 hits and scored 17 runs in a 17-9 victory at Cashman Field.

The Zephyrs jumped on Las Vegas starter PJ Walters scoring seven first inning runs. New Orleans scored runs in each of the first five innings. In the first the Z's got a two run home run from Mike Cervenak and a three run home run from Brad Davis.

New Orleans hit four home runs in the game with home runs from Jose Lopez in the second inning and Matt Dominguez with a three run blast in the fifth. Davis led the Z's with four RBI. Everyone in the Z's line-up had a hit and three of the hitters with four hit performances.

Z's scheduled starter Chris Sampson was scratched due to an illness and the Zephyrs bullpen picked him up with the win. Darin Downs started a pitched four innings allowing one run. Garrett Parcell earned the win pitching two innings. Newcomer Jose Rosario pitched three innings and earned the save.

The Z's are 2-3 on the trip and have two in a row.

Game Notes - The Zephyrs have placed pitcher Adalberto Mendez on the disabled list and added RH Jose Rosario from Class A Jupiter and outfielder Sergio Pedroza from Jupiter. The Zephyrs have 28 games remaining in the season.

Coming Up: The Zephyrs and Las Vegas continue their four game series on Monday night at 9PM. New Orleans will start RH Chris Volstad (1-1, 3.38) vs. RH Kyle Drabek (2-2, 6.60). *RADIO*: WMTI 106.1 FM.
