Tucson Padres News Release

The Oklahoma City RedHawks beat the Tucson Padres 13-5 Sunday, handing the Padres their second straight lopsided loss. The RedHawks had 19 hits in the game, including five by Anderson Hernandez, who was 5-for-7 with an RBI. Oklahoma City also had nine players reach on walks by Padres pitching.

Kyle Phillips hit a home run in the bottom of the sixth to get Tucson within one run, but the slim deficit wouldn't last long. The RedHawks sent eleven batters to the plate in the top of the seventh and scored five times against Luis Perdomo, who only recorded one out before being taken out of the game. Perdomo threw a fastball inside on Robinson Cancel and warnings were issued to both teams after Cancel and other RedHawks from the dugout began to approach Perdomo. Tucson pitching coach Steve Webber was ejected by home plate umpire Brian Sinclair earlier in the game for arguing balls and strikes.

Sunday's game lasted three hours and 56 minutes, matching the game at Colorado Springs on April 7th for the longest nine inning game of the Padres season.

Next Game: Monday, 7:00 pm - Oklahoma City LHP Andy Van Hekken (6-4, 3.27) vs. Tucson RHP Jeremy Hefner (8-5, 5.46). KiiM-FM Family Night - four tickets, four hot dogs, four Coca-Cola based soft drinks for only $20.
