Yu Darvish Takes the Mound at Dell Diamond on May 6

Join us this Friday, May 6 as three-time American League All-Star and Texas Rangers RHP Yu Darvish takes the mound at Dell Diamond to face the New Orleans Zephyrs. Darvish is scheduled to continue his Major League rehabilitation with the Express after appearing for the Frisco RoughRiders last Sunday. He is expected to throw approximately 45 pitches or three innings.
Darvish is coming back from Tommy John surgery on his right elbow on March 17, 2015. He has not appeared in a regular season game since August 9, 2014. This is his fifth season with the Rangers after signing a six-year deal with the club on January 18, 2012. Darvish was named to the American League All-Star team in his first three seasons with the Rangers (2012-14), becoming the second A.L. pitcher to do so. In 2013, he recorded a total of 277 strikeouts, the most of any MLB pitcher that season.
Darvish had a seven-year career with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of the Japanese Pacific League in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) prior to joining the Rangers.
