Zephyrs Get One Hit in OKC, Snap Four Game Win Streak

Oklahoma City, OK - A trio of Oklahoma City pitchers shut out the New Orleans Zephyrs 5-0 on Wednesday afternoon. The Zephyrs did not manage its first hit of the game until the ninth inning when Austin Nola drilled a single into left field.

The young 19-year old Dodger prospect Julio Urias worked six innings facing the minimum. The only baserunner he allowed was Dan Black who reached on an error. Urias struck-out six batters throwing 77 pitches.

Jack Murphy drilled a solo home run in the third inning and the Dodgers added another run in the inning off of starter Paul Clemens. OKC tacked on two more runs in the fourth and Clemens exited allowing four runs in four innings and was tagged with his third loss.

Lisalverto Bonilla entered in relief of Urias and walked a pair of batters but kept the no hit bid intact until the ninth inning. Bonilla led off the eighth with a single and was on base throughout the bottom of the eighth inning. The first batter he faced in the ninth inning drilled a single to left.

Chin-hui Tsao replaced him to retire the final two batters. The Zephyrs were limited to one hit for the first time since last July 6th against the Iowa Cubs.

The Zephyrs snapped a four game win streak and fall to 13-12 on the year.

GAME NOTES

The Zephyrs have pitched three shutouts and now have been shutout three times.

The Zephyrs continue the eight game trip against the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Thursday at 7:05pm. The Zephyrs will start Dylan Axelrod against Zach Lee. The game will be broadcast on WODT Fox Sports 1280 AM and streamed at iHeart Radio App.

The Zephyrs next home game will be Tuesday, May 10th against Colorado Springs. The Z's will be home for a four game series.
