
York Takes Series with 7-3 Win over Patriots

Bridgewater, NJ- The York Revolution defeated the Somerset Patriots 7-3 at TD Bank Ballpark in a rain-shortened game on Thursday evening. The game was called in the top of the eighth inning with two outs.
The Patriots scored first in the bottom of the first inning on a solo home run by Aharon Eggleston (4).
The Revolution tied up the game in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI single by Jeff Fiorentino to make the score 1-1.
The Patriots regained the lead on Eggleston's second home run (5) of the night in the bottom of the fourth.
York jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the top of the sixth inning on a three-run home run by Salvador Paniagua (8) for a 4-2 lead.
Adam Donachie drove in an RBI with a single in the bottom of the seventh to make the score 4-3.
The Revolution extended the lead in the top of the eighth on a three-run triple by Ruddy Yan for the 7-3 final.
York starter Chris Cody (7-2) picked up the win, allowing two runs on five hits in six innings pitched. Patriots starter Paul Phillips (4-2) suffered the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits in 5.2 innings pitched.
The 2013 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue at home on Friday evening when the Patriots take on the Bridgeport Bluefish at 7:05 pm.
