Boise Hawks News Release

BOISE, Idaho - Justin Hilt hit a two-run homer, leading the Yakima Bears to a 4-1 victory over the Boise Hawks at Memorial Stadium.

After the Hawks grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first on a bases loaded fielders' choice, Hilt launched a ball off the top of the wall in deep right-center and over for his third homer of the season, giving the Bears a 2-1 lead. Carter Bell added an RBI single in the frame to push the Yakima edge to 3-1.

It was enough for Brad Wilson and three relievers, who worked out of jams all night. Wilson stranded runners at second and third in the fifth, while the Bears got a great throw by Hilt from right on a fly ball to gun down Paul Hoilman trying to score to end the sixth.

Mark Bourgeois and David Narodowski each had two hits in the win for the Bears, while Pin-Chieh Chen had a triple and double in the loss for the Hawks. Kyler Burke tossed four innings of one-run ball in the loss for Boise.

The Hawks continue their homestand tomorrow night, beginning a three-game set with the Spokane Indians at 7:15 p.m. Yao-Lin Wang gets the start for Boise, meeting Victor Payano.
