
X's fall to Cats 8-5

Sioux City Explorers News Release
SIOUX CITY, IA - The Sioux City Explorers built a 5 run lead but Ft. Worth came storming back to avoid a sweep, beating the X's 8-5 on Wednesday afternoon at Lewis & Clark Park.
The X's built their lead with a RBI double from Chad Gabriel in the 2nd inning and 4 runs in the 4th on a 2 run double by Nick McCoola, a RBI double from Derek Schermerhorn, and Schermerhorn scored on a throwing error by Cats starter Pedro Flores (12-3).
Ft. Worth rallied with 4 runs in the 5th off of X's starter Steve Russell, highlighted by a 3 run HR from Ed Montague. Ft. Worth added 2 runs in the 7th off of Ty Marotz (3-4)to take a 1 run lead on a RBI double by Nilson Teilson and a RBI single by Charles Carter. The Cats added 2 more insurance runs in the 9th and there was no more dramatics in the bottom of the 9th for the Explorers.
Juan Camacho went 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 runs for the X's.
The X's will now hit the road to play 6 games down South, with a 3 game series in Grand Prairie on Thursday night. Cameron Cheek will get the start while the AirHogs are still undecided. Game time is 7:05 with coverage on 1360 KSCJ and xsbaseball.com
