LEADING OFF: The West Virginia Power lost 3-1 on Saturday evening at Augusta. The GreenJackets opened the scoring with a run-scoring double by Miguel Gomez in the second inning. West Virginia evened the score in the fourth. Ryan Nagle singled in Mitchell Tolman with two down to tie the game at one. Augusta regained the lead for good in the bottom of the fourth and added a run in the seventh to seal the win and the series. Bret Helton allowed all three runs the loss while Mat Solter earned the win in his affiliated ball debut. Heath Slatton pitched the ninth for his first save this season. Ke'Bryan Hayes went 4-4, collecting half of West Virginia's eight hits in the game.

FLY BY: The Power host the Delmarva Shorebirds for three games before hitting the road again. West Virginia and Delmarva met for a three game series in mid-May at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. The Power won the opener before dropping the next two. West Virginia and Delmarva will meet a total of 18 times this year, including 12 games in the second half from July 28 on. The Power lead the all-time series 73-64.

THE STREAK IS ON: Ryan Nagle went 1-3 on Saturday to extend his hitting streak to 11 games dating back to May 23. It is the longest streak by any Power player this season, surpassing the 10-game runs by Tito Polo and Alfredo Reyes in April. Nagle is batting .326 during his streak with 14 hits over 43 at bats with six runs batted in. The Power outfielder is tied with Greenville's Chad De La Guerra for the longest active streak in the league.

TOP SHELF TALENT: With the addition of Gage Hinsz to the roster, 24 of the top 30 prospects in the Pittsburgh Pirates system according to Baseball America have played in a West Virginia Power uniform at some point during their professional career. Of the six remaining players, five have already surpassed this level of play or have been traded to another organization.

LONG HAUL: John Bormann's 17 game on-base streak is the longest by any Power player this season and is also the longest active such streak in the South Atlantic League. The Power catcher has reached safely in every game he has played this season.

HONORS COMING? Carlos Munoz saw his seven game hitting streak snapped with an 0-3 performance Saturday night. The Power first baseman hit .536 during the streak with five straight multi-hit games. Munoz also knocked in seven runs last Wednesday afternoon during the steak; the most by a Power player since Edwin Espinal on August 28, 2014.

MAKE THE DAYS COUNT: The Power have 14 games left in the first half and sit seven games back of Hagerstown in the Northern Division. 11 of the final 14 games in the first half will be played against Southern Division opponents with just the next series, three games against Delmarva at Appalachian Power Park, to be played against a divisional rival. 25 of West Virginia's 55 games this season have been against teams for the Northern Division.

POWER POINTS: The Pittsburgh Pirates added right-handed pitcher Gage Hinsz from Extended Spring Training on Friday. To clear room for Gage Hinsz, the Pirates transferred Mitch Keller to Extended Spring Training... Neither starting pitcher in tonight's match-up between West Virginia and Delmarva faced the opposition when the two teams met in a three game series from May 16 though 18.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh fell 5-4 to the Los Angeles Angels at PNC Park. The Buccos allowed two in the seventh and two in the eighth to surrender a 4-1 lead... Indianapolis split a doubleheader with Toledo, winning 7-5 and losing 4-3... Altoona dropped a 4-3 final to Binghamton. Stetson Allie and Edwin Espinal had two hits apiece... Bradenton beat Lakeland 6-3. Kevin Kramer went 3-5 and drove in three runs.

PROMO UPDATE: On Tuesday, June 7, the Power host the Delmarva Shorebirds on Pets in the Park Night. Pet tickets are available for $3 with all money collected going to the Kanawha-County Humane Association.
