Rome Emperors News Release

Rome, GA - The Charleston Riverdogs took game one from the Rome Braves on Monday night by a score of 13-4 before a crowd of 1,459.

Charleston jumped out to an early lead in the first scoring three runs highlighted by a Chris Gittens (6) three run home run. Rome struck back in the bottom of the inning on a Ray-Patrick Didder (3) solo home run. Charleston scored another run in the third following a Gittens RBI double and added two more runs in the fourth for the 6-1. The Braves made it a 6-3 game by scoring single runs in the fifth and sixth, but that is as close as they would get as Charleston went on to win by the 13-4 final.

Luis Cedeno (2-2) picks up his second win of the season while Rome starter Kolby Allard (0-1) is hit with the loss. Cody Carroll (1) earns his first save. Allard went four innings allowing six runs on five hits.

The Braves and Riverdogs meet for game two tomorrow night at 7 p.m. For information contact the Rome Braves at 706-378-5144 or log onto www.romebraves.com.
