FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY: The West Virginia Power fell 3-2 on Friday night to the Augusta Greenjackets. Gage Hinsz made his South Atlantic League debut, striking out six over five innings while allowed three hits and two walks. The Power put Hinsz ahead in the fourth when Carlos Munoz doubled, advanced on a fly out and scored on a wild pitch. The 1-0 advantage held until the home half of the seventh when the GreenJackets scored three runs on four hits. West Virginia loaded the bases in the ninth and scored once on a walk, but left the tying and go-ahead runners on the bases. Jess Amedee was charged with a blown save and took the loss. Connor Kaden worked two innings for the win and Caleb Smith pitched the ninth for the save.

STING LIKE A BEE: Augusta leads the all-time series with West Virginia 33-27 and the Power have gone 17-24 since 2005 at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The Power and GreenJackets meet for one more series this season when the GreenJackets come to Charleston in mid-July.

IT'S NOT BRAGGING: With the addition of Gage Hinsz to the roster, 24 of the top 30 prospects in the Pittsburgh Pirates system according to Baseball America have played in a West Virginia Power uniform at some point during their professional career. Of the six remaining players, five have already surpassed this level of play or have been traded to another organization.

IF YOU CAN BACK IT UP: JT Brubaker entered play on Thursday with 57 strikeouts, sixth-most in the league. After a career-best 11 K's, three more than his previous high of eight against Rome on April 28, Brubaker now leads all South Atlantic League arms with 68 strikeouts over 11 starts.

IT ISN'T THE MOUNTAINS... IT'S THE PEBBLE: West Virginia and Augusta close their three-game series tonight. West Virginia is 3-4 on getaway days this season and 2-3 in rubber games this season.

DON'T COUNT THE DAYS: The Power have 15 games left in the first half and sit six games back of Hagerstown in the Northern Division. 12 of the final 15 games in the first half will be played against Southern Division opponents with just the next series, three games against Delmarva at Appalachian Power Park, to be played against a divisional rival. 25 of West Virginia's 54 games this season have been against teams for the Northern Division.

MAKE THE DAYS COUNT: Wednesday afternoon's 19 runs scored are the most during the Power's affiliation with the Pirates organization, dating back to 2009, and the second most in franchise history, trailing only one game in the 2007 season. The Power scored 24 runs at Hickory on June 12, 2007, in a 24-13 win over the then-Pirates affiliate.

I DONE HANDCUFFED LIGHTNING: Ryan Nagle extended his hitting streak to ten games with a single over four at bats Friday It is the longest current streak on the Power roster and matches the season-highs set by Tito Polo and Alfredo Reyes in April. Nagle is batting .325 during the streak with 13 hits over 40 at bats since May 23.

AND THROWN THUNDER IN JAIL: John Bormann's 16 game on-base streak is the longest current streak on the Power... The Pittsburgh Pirates added right-handed pitcher Gage Hinsz from Extended Spring Training on Friday. To clear room for Gage Hinsz, the Pirates transferred Mitch Keller to Extended Spring Training... Carlos Munoz knocked in seven runs Wednesday afternoon, the most by a Power player since Edwin Espinal on August 28, 2014. The first baseman is now 15-28 with a home run with 12 RBI in his last seven games.

IF MY MIND CAN CONCEIVE IT: Pittsburgh lost 9-2 to the Los Angeles Angels at PNC Park... Indianapolis scored five times in the top of the 13 for a 16-11 win at Rochester... Altoona bested Binghamton 7-4... Bradenton beat Lakeland 17-7. Austin Coley earned his eighth win and six players drove in at least two runs.

AND MY HEART CAN BELIEVE IT: On Tuesday, June 7, the Power host the Delmarva Shorebirds on Pets in the Park Night. Pet tickets are available for $3 with all money collected going to the Kanawha-County Humane Association.

THEN I CAN ACHIEVE IT: West Virginia Power games can be heard on Charleston's ESPN Radio 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, online at wvpower.com and on the TuneIn Radio App.
