THE LEAD OFF: West Virginia earned a doubleheader split against the Augusta GreenJackets on Sunday afternoon, taking game one 9-3 and falling in the nightcap 2-1. Austin Coley was marvelous on the mound by earning his eighth win of the season with a quality start. Offensively in the first game, Jordan Luplow and Connor Joe each had three hits. Luplow hit an inside the park home run and finished the day with two RBIs and three runs scored while Joe went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored. Luplow continued his hot hitting into game two with a multi-hit effort. The Power put the tying run at third base with two gone in the seventh but couldn't finish the comeback.

NOT QUITE MASTERS: West Virginia welcomes in the Augusta GreenJackets for the first, and only, time this season at Appalachian Power Park. The Power are 23-30 all-time against the San Francisco Giants Class-A affiliate and split the six game series in 2014. After today, the two teams meet towards the end of the season from August 25-28 at Lake Olmstead Stadium in Augusta, Georgia.

ALL-STARS ANNOUNCED: West Virginia had three players selected to participate in the 2015 South Atlantic League All-Star Game. Pitchers Yeudy Garcia and Junior Lopez along with outfielder Elvis Escobar were each selected to play in the mid-summer classic at Asheville's McCormick Field on June 23. It's the first nomination in the professional careers for Escobar and Lopez and the second for Garcia, who was selected to play in the DSL All-Star Game last season.

HE'S GOOD: Austin Coley put up another quality outing in Sunday's game one victory against the Augusta GreenJackets. In the process, the right hander collected his team-best eighth win of the season, surpassing the seven wins that Cody Dickson and Buddy Borden had for the Power in all of 2014. Coley's quality start was his sixth of the season, passing Alex McRae who has five. McRae is scheduled to start Tuesday in Charleston, South Carolina.

5.5 STEPS BACK: West Virginia has seven games remaining in the first half and are currently 5.5 games behind the Hickory Crawdads, who won against Savannah again last night. The Power and Crawdads will meet for a three-game series at Appalachian Power Park to conclude the first half. West Virginia's elimination number is currently at three.

DID YOU GET THE MEMO?: Sacrifice bunts have been a key part of West Virginia's offense through the first 63 games of the season. The Power have laid down 45 total sacrifice bunts this season, the most in affiliated baseball.

GO! GO! GO! GO! GO!: Jordan Luplow had five hits in Sunday's doubleheader against the Augusta GreenJackets including the first inside-the-park home run of 2015. The Power third baseman also became the first player this season for the Power to score three times in a game. Luplow became the second Power player in history to have an inside-the-park homer since Erich Weiss accomplished the feat in April of last season.
