HAGERSTOWN, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (31-32) split a doubleheader with the Lakewood BlueClaws (32-29) on Monday, dropping the first game 5-1, but coming back to win the second game 4-3. Lakewood won the four-game series 3-1, and the season series now sits even at six wins apiece.

In the nightcap of the doubleheader on Monday the Suns broke a 1-1 tie with a two-run frame in the bottom of the fourth to take a lead they would not relinquish. With the bases loaded and one out LF Cody Dent came to the plate, and he hammered a ball deep into the left field gap, driving in two to make it 3-1. The BlueClaws responded with a run in the top of the fifth to narrow the deficit to one, but Hagerstown answered right back with a run in the bottom of the frame to make it 4-2. In the top of the seventh 1B Rhys Hoskins drove in a run with a double to right, but RHP Justin Amlung struck out the next two hitters to end the ball game with Hoskins stranded at second.

In the first game of the doubleheader the game was tied 1-1 until the sixth, when the BlueClaws put up a two-run frame. Two more Lakewood runs crossed the plate in the seventh, one on a triple by DH Gustavo Martinez, and one on a single by Hoskins.

The four runs over the final two innings were all charged to LHP David Napoli (2-3), who got tagged with the loss for the Suns. In two innings pitched he allowed five hits and two walks while striking out two. Starting RHP Ricardo Pinto (6-2) earned the win for the BlueClaws. He threw six innings, giving up one earned run on seven hits and two walks while striking out two.
