
Wrestler Mick Foley to Appear at Crosscutters Game July 9

An appearance by superstar wrestler Mick Foley will highlight the promotions on Saturday, July 9 when the Crosscutters host the Mahoning Valley Scrappers at 7:05pm.
As part of the appearance, Foley will be a guest for a live on-field interview- Cutters Pregame Live- at 6:30, throw the ceremonial first pitch and sign autographs for fans in attendance.
In addition, the stars of Pennsylvania All-Star Wrestling will battle in two special professional wrestling matches prior to the game.
After the game, fans will be treated to fireworks presented by Genesee Beer, the Pennsylvania Lottery, Fox 56 & WZXR along with the Best Western Inn and Newberry Subs.
Foley was a star in the WWE, WCW, and ECW wrestling promotions and has produced some of the most memorable, spectacular moments in each. He most recently appeared for the "IMPACT WRESTLING" promotion on the SPIKE cable network. When Foley was a college student at SUNY Cortland in the 1980's, he began his road to wrestling fame by attending Dominic DeNucci's pro wrestling school in Freedom, PA.
Foley is also a multiple-time New York Times best-selling author and published the baseball novel "Scooter" in 2005. His most recent book, "Countdown to Lockdown: A Hardcore Journal" details the heart-pounding build-up to "Lockdown," one of the most important matches of his career. With his trademark blend of wit and wisdom, wildness and warmth, Foley dishes previously untold stories from his remarkable life, including his transition from WWE to TNA, his ill-fated stint as a television commentator, his tumultuous relationship with Vince McMahon, his thoughts on performance enhancing substances in sports, the troubling list of wrestlers dying way too young, and his soul saving work in Sierra Leone.
Foley is a volunteer for RAINN - the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network. RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1.800.656.HOPE and the National Sexual Assault Online Hotline at rainn.org, and publicizes the hotline's free, confidential services; educates the public about sexual assault; and leads national efforts to prevent sexual assault, improve services to victims and ensure that rapists are brought to justice.
As part of Foley's appearance, the Williamsport Crosscutters will make a $500 donation to RAINN which will be presented in pregame ceremonies.
