Wranglers Stop RoadRunners 2-1

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers (18-17-4, 40 Points) defeated the Phoenix RoadRunners (17-18-3, 37 Points) 2-1 in front of 3,488 fans on Tuesday night at the Orleans Arena. Wranglers' goalie Kevin Lalande stopped 37 of 38 RoadRunners' shots, as Las Vegas improved to 15-0-2 when leading after two periods. Forwards Chris and Peter Ferraro each scored goals for the Wranglers. P.J. Fenton tallied the lone Phoenix goal and extended his scoring streak to six games. Phoenix goalie Craig Kowalski was handed the loss, giving up two goals on 26 shots. Las Vegas will play Bakersfield at the Orleans Arena on Friday at 7:30 PM.

After a scoreless first period, Las Vegas scored the go-ahead goal off a turnover in the Phoenix zone. RoadRunners goalie Craig Kowalski 's clearing attempt hit off of the skate of Chris Ferraro and bounced into the vacant net at 15:00. Ferraro's 13th goal of the season gave Las Vegas a 1-0 lead.

In the third period, Phoenix forward P.J. Fenton scored his sixth goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1. Forward Daniel Sisca and defenseman Brett Peterson set up Fenton's sixth goal in his last six games at 7:09. Just 1:01 later, Las Vegas forward Peter Ferraro capitalized on a turnover and put the puck past Kowalski for his ninth goal of the season and a 2-1 Wranglers lead. Center Tyler Mosienko set up Ferraro's seventh goal in his last seven games proved to be the game winner.

The Wranglers host "Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich Prison Uniform Night" on Friday, January 30th against Bakersfield at 7:30 PM. The Condors will stay in town to play at 7:30 Pm on Saturday and 2:05 PM on Monday.
