Blackwater Earns AHL Call-Up To Rockford

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, announced today that rookie center Judd Blackwater has been loaned to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL on a professional tryout agreement (PTO).

Blackwater, 21, has skated in 32 combined games this season for the Thunder and Fresno Falcons, scoring 21 points (7g-14a) while amassing 41 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 193-pound forward was signed by the Thunder as a free agent on Dec. 30, 2008 and since his arrival, has posted seven points (2g-5a) and 18 PIM's in 12 games.

The Lethbridge, Alberta native has earned the first call-up to the AHL of his career and is the 14th player on the Thunder roster to earn a recall to the AHL this season. Blackwater's PTO agreement is on a 25-game tryout basis (maximum) with Rockford.

Currently, the Thunder's active roster stands at 18 players (2 goaltender and 16 skaters).

The Thunder returns to play tonight with a 7:05 p.m. road rematch against the Victoria Salmon Kings from Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
