Kirk MacDonald Loaned To Iowa

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Kirk MacDonald has been loaned to the Iowa Chops of the AHL. MacDonald, who is currently riding a team-long four game goal scoring streak (5g) for the Royals, leads the team with fifteen goals and has assisted on sixteen others (thirty-one points) in thirty-nine games with Reading. This marks the first trip of the season to the AHL for MacDonald, who played eleven regular season and four playoff games with the Albany River Rats of the AHL last year.

The Royals return to action on Friday night (January 30 @ 7:05 pm) when the Wheeling Nailers return the Sovereign Center. Friday's game will be broadcast live on the Royals Radio Network Presented by Transmissions by Arbogast (True Oldies WRAW 1340 am in Reading; and The Ticket WLAN 1390 am in Lancaster), as well as on the internet via webcast hosted by Sportsjuice.com, which can be accessed through the Royals website, www.royalshockey.com.
