Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. - The Las Vegas Wranglers won 3-0 over the Bakersfield Condors tonight, with goalie Mitch O'Keefe making 33 saves for his first shutout of the season.
Just 31 seconds into the contest, Wranglers left wing Adam Hughesman beat Condors goalie Tyler Bunz for an early 1-0 lead. Las Vegas carried a 7-5 shot advantage into the second period, and at the 18:28 mark, Wranglers center Justin Bernhardt tallied his first goal of the season to make it a 2-0 game.
Bakersfield outshot the Wranglers 16-3 in the third period, and pulled Bunz in the final minutes for the man advantage. The home team was unable to score, though, and the Wranglers took the game with the 2-0 score. O'Keefe was given top Three Stars of the game honors, and the Vegas goalie has won two of his last three starts.
The Wranglers begin a three-game road series against the Alaska Aces on Wednesday, Jan. 15. The team will host a viewing party for the game on Friday, Jan. 17, at Scooter's Pub, which will feature raffle prizes and non-traveling players starting at 8:15 p.m.
Tonight's full box score can be found here.
