
Wranglers Fall To Aces, 3-1

Anchorage, AK - The Las Vegas Wranglers© (16-17-4, 36 Points) were defeated by the Alaska Aces (17-18-3, 37 Points) 3-1 in front of 4,494 fans Friday night at the Sullivan Arena. Aces forwards Alexandre Imbeault, Matt Stefanishion, and Scott Burt scored for Alaska as they improve to 10-7-3 at home this season. Goalie Frank Doyle stopped 24 of 25 shots in the win. Center Josh Prudden tallied the lone Wranglers goal in the loss. Goalie Michael Ouzas made 29 saves as the Wranglers fall to 3-11-3 on the road this season. The Wranglers stay in Alaska to take on the Aces Saturday, January 16th, at 8:15 p.m. at the Sullivan Arena.
Alaska opened the scoring with a tally from forward Alexandre Imbeault at 10:02 of the first period. Center Merit Waldrop assisted on Imbeault's 14th goal of the season to give the Aces the 1-0 lead. Alaska padded the first period lead with a tally from Matt Stefanishion at 11:55. Stefanishion snapped in his 12th goal of the year to give the Aces the 2-0 lead after one period.
Las Vegas chipped into the lead just 22-seconds into the middle frame with a goal from center Josh Prudden. Forwards Andrew Orpik and Shay Stephenson set up Prudden's fifth goal on the season to cut the Alaska lead to 2-1.
In the third period, Alaska padded the lead with a goal from Captain Scott Burt at 16:46. Burt's seventh goal on the season put the nail in the coffin for the 3-1 Alaska win.
