Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Boise, Ida. - Splitting the weekend road series, the Las Vegas Wranglers won 3-2 over the Idaho Steelheads tonight after falling 6-3 to the same team Friday night.
With multiple scoring chances in the first, Wranglers goaltender Mitch O'Keefe and Steelheads goaltender Tyler Beskorowany kept the goals at bay through the opening 20 minutes. Eight minutes into the second, Wranglers center Chris Francis put the first tally on the board for a 1-0 lead, and a goal from Wranglers left wing Adam Hughesman five minutes into the third gave Las Vegas a two-goal advantage.
Midway through the final period, Idaho recorded two goals in a four-minute span to tie the game 2-2. Overtime was narrowly avoided on a controversial goal from Wranglers center Judd Blackwater in the final minutes of the game, and the team held on against a sixth Steelheads man to collect the 3-2 win.
