
Wranglers Downed by Grizzlies, 5-3

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers (15-7-2) were defeated by the Utah Grizzlies (16-9-4) 5-3 in front of 5,505 at the Orleans Arena in the Eighth Annual Midnight Holiday Roundup Game. Vince Bellissimo had a goal and an assist in the loss. Joe Fallon made 19 saves on 23 shots to fall to 4-4-1 on the season. Simon Ferguson had two goals in the win for Utah. Andrew Engelage turned aside 26 of 29 shots to improve to 8-3-3.
Las Vegas struck first with a great move in front of the net by Vince Bellissimo at the 7:12 point of the first period. Craig Switzer assisted on Bellissimo's ninth goal of the year.
In the second, Utah tied the game at 6:31 with an unassisted goal from Matt Clarke, his third of the season. The Grizzlies took the lead at the 10:29 mark with a goal from Simon Ferguson. Brock Wilson got the only assists on Ferguson's fifth goal of the year. The Wranglers tied the game with a power play goal from rookie defenseman Barry Goers. Goers netted his third of the year with Vince Bellissimo and Jamie Bates getting the assists.
The Grizzlies regained the lead at 4:13 of the third period when Tim Crowder scored his ninth goal of the year. Tyler Ruegsegger and Brian Kilburg earned assists on the goal. Tyler Ruegsegger got a lucky bounce off Joe Fallon's glove and into the back of the net to get his fifth goal of the campaign and also gave Utah a 4-2 lead. Las Vegas wouldn't go away as Ryan Huddy scored his team leading 12th goal of the season at 9:50 of the third period. Jamie Bates and Eddie DelGrosso chipped in assists on Huddy's goal. It wasn't enough though, as the Grizzlies iced it with an empty net goal for Simon Ferguson, his second goal of the night and sixth on the year. Nick Tuzzolino and Kevin Deeth earned the assists
The Wranglers head to Stockton for two games against their divisional foe Wednesday and Thursday this week. They will not return home until Friday, January 14th, when they host the Ontario Reign.
