Salmon Kings' Goal Named Top Play of 2010

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that their highlight reel goal from January 15th has been named the top play of 2010 on Rogers Sportsnet, #5 on The Sports Network's (TSN) Top 10 plays of 2010 and #10 on The Score Television Network's top 50 plays of the year.

The goal, which saw Scott Howes, Dirk Southern and Adam Taylor combine for a highlight reel play, was named Sportsnet's play of the year that was first shown on Christmas Eve. TSN and The Score also debuted their top plays of 2010 last week that featured the goal listed at #5 and #10 respectively. The broadcasts will re-air throughout the holiday season.

Since being scored, the goal has garnered international attention. It was first shown across Canada the night of January 15th on TSN's "Honour Roll" and was also named the network's "Highlight of the Night". The goal was then shown on various international broadcasts that included Rogers Sportsnet and ESPN, as well as being featured in and article on Yahoo Sports. A video copy of the goal was also broadcast during the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game.
