STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks, and Thunder head coach Matt Thomas announced rookie left wing Jordan Fulton has been acquired from the Kalamazoo Wings in exchange for left wing Aaron Clarke.

Fulton, 23, should be available to make his debut in a Thunder uniform when the team returns to play Wednesday, hosting the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7:00 p.m. (1280 KWSX/StocktonThunder.com) at Stockton Arena.

"We were looking to add a good first year player with speed and size and Jordan fits that description, ‚¬Â said Thomas. ‚¬Å“It's always tough to lose a good player in Aaron Clarke but we felt we needed to make this change. We are hoping that Jordan can come in and help create some chemistry up front. He has a knack for putting up points and we hope that it continues here."

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound forward made his professional debut with the Wings this season, scoring five goals and 15 points (5g-10a) in 27 games while totaling 38 penalty minutes.

Fulton was selected by the Calgary Flames in the sixth round (179th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and skated in AHL training camp this season with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Previously, the native of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota skated in 156 career games in college with the University of Minnesota-Duluth (NCAA), scoring 58 points (24g-34a) and totaling 206 penalty minutes.

He scored a career-high 12 goals and tied another with 17 points (12g-5a) as a 2008-09 junior, helping guide the Bulldogs to an appearance in the NCAA Frozen Four tournament.

Fulton is reunited on the Thunder roster with former college teammate and defenseman Chase Ryan.

A two-time recipient of the ECHL ‚¬Å“Award of Excellence, ‚¬Â Thunder has led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons, was voted "Best Local Sports Team" by readers of the San Joaquin Magazine for the third straight year, and drew over 200,000 fans for the fifth consecutive season in 2009-10. Season Tickets, mini-plans and individual tickets for 2010-11 are on sale now.
