DULUTH, GA - The Gwinnett Gladiators snapped an 11-game winless streak Tuesday night in front of 5,057 at the Arena at Gwinnett Center with a 4-3 shootout win over the Wheeling Nailers.

Rookie goaltender Edward Pasquale, in his first game of the season for Gwinnett after being reassigned from Chicago (AHL) on Monday, stopped 49 shots and was a perfect 5-for-5 in the shootout to backstop the Glads to the win.

Rookie forward Aaron Bendickson put the Gladiators (13-14-5) on the board first with a powerplay goal at the 13:36 mark in the first period. Bendickson now has 18 points (six goals, 12 assists) in 23 games.

The Nailers (16-13-0) drew even just 41 seconds into the second period on Nick Peterson's powerplay goal. Ryan Schnell tallied another goal for the Nailers at the 6:20 mark to make it 2-1.

The Glads quickly responded 36 seconds later to tie the score at two as defensemen Will Colbert put in a rebound past netminder Mike Brown.

The Gladiators regained their advantage when Tim Miller put a shot off the post, off Brown, and in to mark his 11th of year. The score remained 3-2 at the end of the period.

The Nailers evened the score again at the 8:46 mark in the third period with a goal from Sebastien Bisaillon.

The score stayed tied through the remainder of the third period and overtime. In the shootout Andy Brandt scored in the second round to give Gwinnett the 4-3 win.

The Gladiators are now 10-0-0 when leading after two periods, and the win snaps a five-game losing streak. Gwinnett went 2-for-6 on the powerplay while Wheeling managed just 1-for-10.

The Gladiators are back at home Wednesday night in a rematch with the Wheeling Nailers at 7:05.

The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
