
Wranglers Defeated By Long Beach 5-3

Las Vegas, NV â The Las Vegas Wranglers fell to the Long Beach Ice Dogs 5-3 Saturday night in front of 5,974 fans. Wranglers forward Adam Huxley scored two goals in the loss. Defenseman Christian Chartier scored his seventh goal of the season with assists from Chris Stanley and Jason Spence. Long Beach winger Chris Kenady notched two goals and an assist in the Ice Dogs victory. The Wranglers travel to the Save-Mart Center Sunday to play the Fresno Falcons at 5:05 pm.
In the first period, Chris Kenady scored on the power play for Long Beach giving the Ice Dogs the 1-0 lead. Defenseman Christian Chartier countered for the Wranglers at 16:59 to even the score at 1-1 after the first period.
In the second period, Chris Kenady scored his second goal of the night just 1:09 into the period giving Long Beach the 2-1 lead. Nathan Martz pushed the lead to 3-1 when he scored his 15th goal of the season. Adam Huxley scored his fourth goal of the season to bring the Wranglers to within one at 3-2. With 35 seconds left in the period, Evan Cheverie scored to give the Ice Dogs a 4-2 lead at the end of two periods.
In the third period, Phil Lewandowski scored for Long Beach giving the Ice Dogs a 5-2 lead. Las Vegas would score just once more, as Adam Huxley scored his second of the night and fifth of the season, ending the scoring at 5-3.
The Wranglers will embark on an eight-game road trip starting Sunday in Fresno. The Wranglers return home on Friday, March 11th and Saturday, March 12th when they host the San Diego Gulls at 7:05 pm. Friday night, the first 1,500 fans receive a Wranglers visor sponsored by Fox 5. On Saturday night, "Zooperstars" will perform at the game.
