Worcester Sharks sign forward John Laliberte to PTO

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks General Manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the Worcester Sharks have signed forward John Laliberte from the Trenton Titans of the ECHL to a Professional Tryout Agreement.

In 13 games with Trenton, Laliberte registered 17 points (10+7=17) and is second on the team in scoring race.

The Saco, Maine native spent four years playing with current Sharks defenseman Dan Spang under Jack Parker at Boston University. There, he tallied 89 points (33+56=89) in 134 games.

The six-foot-two, 190-pound forward was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft (4th round, 114 overall).

The team returns home on Friday, December 8, 2006 to face the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:00 p.m. for City of Worcester Night. The Sharks will be partnering with Baystate Financial Services for a Coat Drive to benefit the Mass DSS Kids Fund.
