Woodard, Jova, Pearson Lead San Rafael to Victory

MAUI - San Rafael Pacifics first baseman Johnny Woodardhomered, doubled and drove in three runs as San Rafael snapped a two-game skid with a 10-4 win over the Maui Na Koa Ikaika at Iron Mahera Stadium on Thursday night.

Woodard went 3 for 4 with his team-leading eighth homer of the season, and Maikel Jova added three hits and two RBIs, including his seventh home run of the year.

Steve Detwiler had two hits for San Rafael (28-17), scored twice and and drove in a run. Chad Bunting and Will Wright each collected a pair of hits. Detwiler is hitting .375 (6 for 16) over his last five games.

Pacifics starter Tyler Pearson (3-0) was the benefactor of the offensive outburst, pitching 8 innings of one-run ball, struck out six and scattered seven hits for his third win in as many starts.

Matt Walker(3-3) pitched 6 2/3 innings for Maui (23-22), walked one, struck out one, allowed five runs and was charged with the loss.
