Edinburg, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley White Wings (36-29) put in a full day's work in a 12-inning, 6-4 win over the McAllen Thunder (25-41) Sunday at Edinburg Stadium.
With the score tied at four in the twelfth inning, Leugim Barroso came to the plate and singled, plating Ruddy Yan.
The Rio Grande Valley White Wings scored three runs in the first inning to build an early lead. A three-run home run by Romulo Ruiz delivered the runs in the first. The Rio Grande Valley White Wings had three hits in the inning.
Barroso helped the Rio Grande Valley White Wings pull ahead for the duration in the twelfth inning.
Ruiz racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Rio Grande Valley White Wings.
Eddie Dennis Jr. (2-2) recorded his second win of the year for the Rio Grande Valley White Wings. Dennis Jr. struck out three, walked one and gave up three hits.
Kurt Houck (2-3) took the loss for the McAllen Thunder, lasting an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
The Thunder and White Wings will continue their eight game series on Friday night at Harlingen with the first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
