March 27, 2019 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
GLENVIEW, Ill. - The Chicago Wolves can clinch their 20th postseason berth in their 25-year history Friday night, but Wolves fans only have to wait until 11 a.m. Thursday to secure individual tickets for the Calder Cup playoffs.
To purchase a playoff package -- which provides the same seat for all 15 potential Calder Cup home games -- or a playoff flex pack, call 1-800-THE-WOLVES. Individual tickets for all playoff games also can be purchased by visiting ChicagoWolves.com/Playoffs or Ticketmaster.com, calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000, or visiting the Allstate Arena box office or any other Ticketmaster outlet.
With nine regular-season games left, the Wolves (40-19-5-3) own a 2-point lead over the Grand Rapids Griffins in their bid to take the Central Division crown for the third year in a row. Meanwhile, the magic number for head coach Rocky Thompson's team to wrap up a playoff spot sits at 2.
The postseason schedule will be released the final weekend of the regular season, which concludes when the Wolves host the Manitoba Moose on Sunday, April 14, at Allstate Arena. The top four finishers in each of the AHL's four divisions qualify for the Calder Cup playoffs. The No. 1 and No. 4 seeds meet for a best-of-five series in the first round, as do the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds. All subsequent playoff series are best-of-seven.
The Wolves have just five regular-season home games remaining -- starting with Saturday's Salute to Military Families Night, presented by Kia, at 7 p.m. against the Milwaukee Admirals.
