Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves have recalled goaltender TUOMAS TARKKI (TOH-mas TAR-KEY) and defenseman TROY MILAM (MY-luhm) from the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators. In addition, the Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned right wing GUILLAUME DESBIENS (ghee-OHM day-BYEHN) from Gwinnett to Chicago, and the Wolves have assigned netminder ADAM BERKHOEL (BUHRK-uhl) to the Gladiators.

MILAM paces ECHL blueliners with 40 assists and 46 points and is tied for third with a +19 plus/minus rating in 45 games. The Lake Orion, Mich., native ranks third among league defensemen with 139 shots.

DESBIENS shares second among ECHL rookies with a team-leading 22 goals and fifth with 44 points in 44 contests. His 132 penalty minutes rank second among league first-year pros and third on the Gladiators.

The Alma, Quebec, native was held scoreless in his professional debut with the Wolves on Oct. 7 against the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, the only game he suited up for with Chicago this season.

Both MILAM and DESBIENS represented Gwinnett on the American Conference Team in the ECHL's All-Star Game last month.

TARKKI leads Wolves goalies with six wins and 838 minutes played. Overall, he has recorded a 6-3-3 mark with a 3.08 goals-against average and a .892 save percentage in 15 appearances with Chicago.

The 25-year-old Finn has posted a 4-2-1 record with a 2.83 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage in seven games with Gwinnett.

BERKHOEL has posted a 3-6-0 mark with a 3.65 goals-against average and a .882 save percentage in 11 appearances with the Wolves this season. He has also registered a 2-4-0 mark with a 4.08 goals-against average and a .876 save percentage in eight outings with the Atlanta Thrashers - his National Hockey League debut - and a 2-1-0 record with a 2.69 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage in three games with Gwinnett.
