(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans 16th annual Amerks Celebrity Waiter Dinner & Sports Memorabilia Auction raised $48,378 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Rochester. The event was held at The Clarion Riverside Hotel in downtown Rochester on Tuesday, February 7th.

Amerk players served guests their food and drinks for tips to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The tipping did not stop after dinner, as players performed antics and tricks with their guests and fellow players for more money. The event also included live, silent and Chinese auctions.

Great sports memorabilia items from the National Hockey League and National Football League highlighted the auctions. The items included game-worn jerseys from the Amerks and Rochester Raging Rhinos soccer team. Other auction items included a 1980 U.S. Men's Ice Hockey "Miracle on Ice" autographed photo, a Willis McGahee Buffalo Bills autographed football and autographed jerseys from Martin Biron (Buffalo Sabres), Marty Reasoner (Edmonton Oilers) and Fredrik Modin (Tampa Bay Lightning).

The highest grossing jersey belonged to Rochester Americans forward Matt Hendricks. The blue game-worn autographed jersey fetched $1,000. The single highest item of the night was the "Miracle on Ice" photo, which brought in $3,000 for the CF Foundation.
