The SeaWolves could not hold a late lead on Saturday night at New Britain Stadium as they dropped the third game of a four-game series to the Rock Cats 5-3.

The SeaWolves jumped ahead in the top of the third against Rock Cats starter Pat Dean. With one out, Devon Travis belted a solo home run to center for a 1-0 lead. The solo blast was his eighth of the season and second in as many games.

In the fifth, Travis led off with a double and scored on a Corey Jones single to right for a 2-0 lead. Jones advanced to second on a Ramon Cabrera groundout and eventually scored on an error making it 3-0.

Erie starter Wilsen Palacios left the game with a 3-0 after tossing 6.1 scoreless innings, allowing two hits with three walks and four strikeouts in a no-decision.

With two outs in the seventh and the bases empty, Stephen Wickens singled off of Will Startup and scored on a Brad Boyer double making it 3-1. Kyle Knudson followed with a base hit, scoring Boyer, cutting the Erie lead down to a run at 3-2.

In the eighth, Aaron Hicks led off with a single off of Knudson and Tony Thomas singled with one out putting the tying run in scoring position. Erie went to the bullpen once again and brought in Angel Nesbitt. Nesbitt walked Mike Gonzalez loading the bases for Wickens. Wickens laced a bases clearing double down the left field line for a 5-3 Rock Cats lead.

Erie would get two on base in the top of the ninth but they failed to score, falling by two runs.

Knudson (0-5) took the loss allowing two runs on three hits with no walks and no strikeouts in 0.2 innings.
