Wolves Battle, Fall to Skyforce on Opening Weekend

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Wolves (0-2) battled throughout Saturday night's contest before falling 114-106 to the Sioux Falls Skyforce (2-0) at Wells Fargo Arena.

Trailing by as many as 21 points in the third quarter, Iowa fought its way back to a four-point game with 7:42 remaining but ran out of steam in the end.

Former NBA G League All-Star Xavier Silas scored a game-high 28 points, including 20 second-half points for the Wolves. Silas shot 10-of-19 from the floor and recorded a team-high six three-pointers (6-of-10).

Darius Johnson-Odom continued the season with his second straight game scoring 20-or-more points (24). The lefty connected on 9-of-19 attempts from the court and paced the Wolves with seven assists.

Five Iowa players in total tallied double-digit points. Canyon Barry finished with a team-high 10 rebounds to go along with seven points.

As a team, the Wolves held the Skyforce to under 50% shooting from the floor and under 30% from deep.

The Iowa Wolves finish their three-game homestand Tuesday evening against the Northern Arizona Suns at 7:00 p.m. from Wells Fargo Arena.
