
Charge Season Opens with Defeat

OSHKOSH, WI - The Canton Charge, powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, were defeated in their 2018-19 season-opening contest at the Wisconsin Herd, 101-89, at the Menominee Nation Arena on Saturday night.
Canton's Bonzie Colson II posted a double-double in his pro debut by scoring 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting with 15 rebounds and a pair of blocks in 32 minutes. JaCorey Williams scored 12 points, grabbed nine rebounds and nabbed two steals in 24 points. John Holland added 11 points and Scoochie Smith dished out 11 assists, while Billy Preston had five points and three rebounds off the bench in his pro debut.
The Herd were led by Sterling Brown's 22 points on 10-of-17 from the field in 36 minutes on assignment from Milwaukee. James Young added a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds in 31 minutes. Trevon Duval scored 14 points and dished out six assists in 26 minutes.
The Charge are back in action on the road in Maine on Thursday, November 8th at 7:00 p.m. Canton will celebrate their Home Opener on Saturday November 10th with the annual Charge 5K race in the morning and tipoff against the Erie BayHawks at 7:00 p.m.
