Wolves All-Star Ty Rattie Recalled
January 30, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves announced Friday that American Hockey League All-Star right wing TY RATTIE has been recalled from loan.
RATTIE is tied for first on the Wolves and fifth in the AHL with 17 goals in 43 games this season. He ranks second on the team in points (28) and is tied for third --- first among forwards --- in plus/minus rating (+6). This is his first stint with St. Louis (NHL) during 2014-15, though the forward made two appearances with the Blues last season that included his National Hockey League debut on April 11 at Dallas.
The 21-year-old winger recently returned from Utica, N.Y., where he made his first appearance at the AHL All-Star Classic. He tied a Wolves record with four points (G, 3A) in the event as the Western Conference claimed the contest 14-12.
The Airdrie, Alberta, native is in his second season with the Wolves following a dynamic first-year campaign in 2013-14 that saw him post a team-leading 31 goals and top the league in rookie goal-scoring. His 48 points made him the first rookie to lead Chicago in regular-season production and he added three points (G, 2A) in nine Calder Cup Playoff tilts.
Prior to turning pro, RATTIE enjoyed a prolific junior career with the Portland Winterhawks (WHL), for whom he racked up 348 points (151G, 197A) in 269 games over five seasons (2008-13). He contributed another 95 points (50G, 45A) in 76 playoff games and helped lead the team to a WHL Championship and Memorial Cup berth in 2013.
RATTIE was selected by St. Louis with its first selection, 32nd overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
The Wolves travel to Rockford tonight for a 7 p.m. faceoff. They return to Allstate Arena on Saturday for the second half of a home-and-home with the IceHogs and will wear their Fight Against Cancer specialty jerseys for the final time.
