BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators fell 5-3 to the visiting Norfolk Admirals in the first of back-to-back contests this weekend against the divisional foe. Emerson Etem paced the Admirals with a hat trick while John Gibson stopped 23 of 26 shots faced to lead Norfolk to victory.

Etem notched his first of the evening 8:05 into the first period beating Binghamton's goaltender Peter Mannino for his 10th of the year. Etem's second of the night came on the power play 11:48 into the opening frame to give the Admirals a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

Darren Kramer cut the Admiral's lead to 2-1 5:24 into the middle period when he received a centering feed from David Dziurzynski and beat Gibson for his third tally of the year. Norfolk outshot Binghamton 19-9 in the frame to hold the 2-1 lead heading into the final intermission.

Binghamton knotted the score 2-2 off of Cole Schneider's 13th goal of the season 12:11 into the third, but Norfolk responded with two goals in a 28 second span to take a 4-2 lead. The B-Sens refused to go away as Shane Prince completed a good looking give-and-go sequence with Carter Camper to cut the Admirals lead to 4-3. With the Admirals continuing to pressure, Etem completed the hat trick bid with just 45 seconds remaining to push the final score to 5-3.

Mannino made 39 saves in the losing effort as Binghamton and Norfolk are now tied for fourth place in the East Division with 39 points on the year.
