FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne TinCaps shut out the South Bend Cubs (Chicago Cubs affiliate), 6-0, on Saturday afternoon at Parkview Field. Starting pitcher Jackson Wolf teamed up with relievers Edwuin Bencomo and Ryan Och to limit the visitors to two singles and a walk while not allowing a runner to reach second base.
Wolf, a 22-year-old from Columbus, Ohio, tossed four innings of one-hit ball as he struck out six with no walks. Following the left-hander, Bencomo, a righty, pitched three innings, and Och, a southpaw, wrapped it up with two perfect frames, featuring five strikeouts.
Offensively, the TinCaps (4-4) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first. Center fielder Robert Hassell III provided an RBI single and shortstop Jarryd Dale drew a bases-loaded walk.

The TinCaps tacked on more in the fifth, with first baseman Jack Stronach hitting his first home run of the season, a two-run blast, to right field. Then in the sixth, designated hitter Justin Lopez further extended the lead with a run-scoring single.
