Wolf Pack Have Received Goaltender Ty Conklin from NHL's Oilers

Hartford, CT: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager/head coach Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack have received goaltender Ty Conklin on a conditioning loan from the NHL's Edmonton Oilers. Also, rookie goaltender Al Montoya has been reassigned to the Wolf Pack's ECHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers, on a conditioning assignment.

Conklin, a fifth-year pro, has been out of action since October 21st with a groin injury. In four games this year with the Oilers, he is 1-1-0, with a 4.39 goals-against average and an 83.6% save percentage. Last season Conklin played in Germany for Wolfsburg, posting a 2.99 goals-against average in 11 games. In 2003-04 with Edmonton, the former University of New Hampshire Wildcat was 17-14-4 with a 2.42 GAA and a 91.2% save percentage in 38 appearances.

Montoya has been out of the Wolf Pack lineup since suffering a broken ring finger on his left (catching) hand in practice November 8th. In six games with the Pack, Montoya has a record of 5-1-0, with a goals-against average of 2.50 and a 92.9% save percentage.

The Wolf Pack return to action tomorrow night, Friday, December 9th, as they travel to Springfield for a 7:35 game. Then on Saturday the Pack host the defending Calder Cup-champion Philadelphia Phantoms at the Hartford Civic Center at 7:00. That game is a Guaranteed Win Night, sponsored by Advance Auto Parts-if the Wolf Pack do not beat the Phantoms, then fans can turn in their tickets at the Civic Center Box Office for complimentary tickets to the Pack's home game December 14th against Manchester. Also on Saturday, two lucky fans will have a chance to win a Nissan Pathfinder, courtesy of Middletown Nissan and Infinity Radio. Additionally, the Wolf Pack and the Hartford Fire Department will be collecting donations for Hartford's Operation Fuel, which operates fuel banks, providing emergency energy assistance to elderly, disabled and low-income working poor families who are facing financial crisis.
