Former Gamblers Defenseman Matt Greene to make NHL Debut

The National Hockey League's (NHL) Edmonton Oilers have recalled former Gamblers defenseman Matt Greene (2001-02) from the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League.

Greene, the Oilers fourth choice (second round), 44th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, has scored two goals and four assists in 23 games with Iowa and is +1 with 34 penalty minutes. Both of his goals have come on special teams as he has netted one power play and one short-handed goal.

Along with Greene's call up, the Oilers also announced that former Green Bay goaltender Ty Conklin (95-97) has been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League on a conditioning assignment.

Conklin will join the New York Rangers' AHL affiliate for games versus Springfield and Philadelphia this weekend and will rejoin the Oilers in New Jersey for their game against the Devils on December 13th.
