
Stars Add to Roster, Introduce Bud Zone

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced today that the club has recalled center David Bararuk as well as signing defenseman Christian Chartier to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).
Bararuk departs the Stars ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads, having played in 18 games and tied for third in team scoring with 21 points, including 10 goals: 18(10/11/21). Prior to being loaned to Idaho on October 18th, he skated in one Stars game this season, recording two penalty minutes in the Saturday, October 8th match against Omaha. The 6-0, 180-pound Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native was drafted by Dallas with their 8th choice, 147th pick overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
A five-year professional, Chartier joins the Stars after playing in 14 games with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL where he was the fourth leading point-getter with 12 points: 14(1/11/12). The St. Lazare, Manitoba native began his professional career with the former St. John's Maple Leafs (AHL) in 2001-02. In 94 games with the Leafs, he had 12 goals, 46 assists and 100 PIM's. Drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the seventh round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, he also skated in one game with Manitoba (AHL) this season. Chartier was born on December 29, 1980.
