Superhero Night with the Phantoms December 16

PHILADELPHIA - The powers of superheroes will be on hand at the Wachovia Spectrum Fri., Dec. 16 when the Phantoms host the Hamilton Bulldogs. The club will be honoring local community heroes during the game, and will have an on-ice parade for fans with Phlex and his five superhero friends.

The Phantoms are currently accepting nominations for Community Superheroes to be honored during the game. Fans can nominate local community heroes by going to the Phantoms website at www.phantomshockey.com and clicking on the "Essay Contest" link under the Phan Phorum menu.

The Phantoms will select five Community Superheroes to be honored at the game. Each individual will receive four tickets to the Dec. 16 game, a recognition certificate and a photo commemorating the event.

During one of the intermissions, two groups of local heroes will face off in a spirited game of broomball as the Upper Darby, PA Police Department takes on the Vineland, NJ Fire Department on the Spectrum ice.

In addition, Phlex and his superhero friends will be roaming the stands during the game. Fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero, and those who do will be able to participate in the on-ice parade during intermission.

The 11-14-0-2 Phantoms next host the Albany River Rats this Saturday evening at 7:05 pm. The Phantoms will be collecting toys at the game to benefit Toys For Tots. All fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the game to benefit children in need this holiday season.
