
WKLM Remains K-Wings' Exclusive Home

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League, announce a two-year extension for WLKM (95.9 FM) to be the exclusive radio home for K-Wings hockey.
Since the Kalamazoo Wings re-established their radio network back in 2002, fans have enjoyed listening to home and away K-Wings' games on WLKM. By renewing their agreement, the K-Wings and their exclusive radio home, based in Three Rivers, Michigan, can continue to have games reach a coverage area that spans over 11 Southwest Michigan counties.
The renewing of the agreement also gives WLKM the rights to continue to broadcast the Kalamazoo Wings Weekly Coaches Show, "K-Wings Live".
New to this recently signed agreement, gives WLKM now has the rights tointernet streaming for K-Wings hockey and K-Wings coaches show. Fans will be able to listen to the audio streaming for FREE by clicking on their K-Wings website (www.kwings.com ) or on WLKM's site (www.wlkm.com ).
"We are excited to continue our relationship with the K-Wings," said Dennis Rumsey, president and general manager of WLKM. The K-Wings have a huge following so we're thrilled to be able to deliver the games and coaches show to such a devote fan base."
The game streaming will be a simulcast of the radio broadcast, including all commercials. For the past year, WLKM has also strengthened the signal from 3,000 watts to 6,000 watts, which will increase the listening audience for the broadcast.
"For over the past nine years WLKM has been a great partner and we look forward to continue our relationship," said Paul L. Pickard, president. "The improvements made to both the radio coverage and the game streaming was imperative for us so we could enhance the listening enjoyment of our fans."
Fans can tune into the 37th season of professional hockey in Kalamazoo this October, when the "Voice of the K-Wings",Mike Modugno begins his ninth season of hockey in Kalamazoo. Coverage of all of the K-Wings games start 15-minutes prior to face-off with the Kalsee Credit Union Pre-Game Show.
