Royals Sign Defenseman Dallas Jackson

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has signed defenseman Dallas Jackson. Last season, Jackson (6'2/198) (21), who hails from Edson, Alberta, began the season with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League, where he led the team's defensemen with eleven goals and eighteen assists (twenty-nine points) in twenty-nine games before being traded to the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL in early January. While with the Rockets, Jackson picked up sixteen points (3g-13a) in nineteen regular season games. Jackson then registered six assists in twelve playoff games for the Rockets, who advanced to the WHL Conference Semi-Finals before being ousted by the Tri-City Americans. Jackson, who served as an alternate captain and led the Cougars' d-men in 2008-09 with thirteen goals in sixty-seven games, registered 102 points (32g-70a) and 173 penalty minutes in 174 total regular season games over three seasons in the WHL. Jackson is the thirteenth player (seven forwards, six defensemen) announced as signed by the Royals to an ECHL contract for the 2010-11 season.
