Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers(r) announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Craig Switzer for the 2010-11 season.
Switzer returns to Las Vegas for his third professional season, his second with the Wranglers. The 25-year-old spent the 2008-09 season with the ECHL's Elmira Jackals, where he played in 64 games and earned 17 points, also appearing in one game with the Florida Everblades and two with Quad City of the AHL. The 6-1, 205-pound defenseman joined the Wranglers in 2009-10 and skated in 71 regular season games for 32 points. Switzer, a native of Peachland, BC, also appeared in five postseason games with the team, contributing two assists.
"Craig is a player that really came into his own last year. He is an absolute workhorse who has the ability to put up points from the back end," said Wranglers GM/Head Coach Ryan Mougenel. "Craig is a very soft spoken guy but when he talks, his teammates listen. His leadership and attention to detail are going to be huge for us this year. I am very excited to have him back this year."
The Las Vegas Wranglers(r) are the ECHL affiliate to the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes and the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage.
The Wranglers host Opening Night on Friday, October 22nd, 2010 at 7:05 pm against Victoria. 2010-11 season seat packages are on sale now at (702) 471-PUCK. The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at the Orleans Arena, located adjacent to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue.
