Be True to Your School Program Unveiled
September 2, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release
(Boise, ID) - The Idaho Steelheads, along with the Idaho Stampede, are partnering with Commercial Tire and Cooper Tires to present the "Be True to Your School" campaign this season.
The program allows local fans to nominate a deserving high school athletics coach for recognition. One winner per week will be selected between September 12 and February 12. The winning coaches will be invited to a Steelheads or Stampede game to be honored and the coach's school will receive a $750 donation from Commercial Tire and Cooper Tires.
"It's an opportunity for us to work together to reward the men and women who are turning the kids of today into the leaders of tomorrow," Steelheads President Eric Trapp said. "Our investment is small compared to the time and energy these people invest into our communities every day."
To nominate a coach, simply visit the website for the Steelheads or Commercial Tire and click on the "Be True to Your School" logo. Fill out the nomination form and click "Submit Form." Once you've done that, your coach has officially been nominated.
"We are thrilled to partner with the Idaho Steelheads, Commercial Tire and Cooper Tires for the 'Be True to Your School' program," Stampede President and General Manager Steve Brandes said. "Sports are an important part of the development of our youth and we are excited to help engage the community in an effort to further the advancement of high school athletics programs."
Winners will be selected by the sponsors and local media. The donation checks will be issued to the winning high school coach's athletic department.
The ECHL's Steelheads and NBA Development League's Stampede each play their home games at Boise's Qwest Arena.
The Steelheads open the regular season on October 15 when they host the Victoria Salmon Kings at Qwest Arena. Ticket plans for the 2010-2011 season are available right now, starting at just $275 per seat for all 36 home games during the regular season. Partial-season plans are also available.
