Fort Wayne, IN - The undefeated state champion Norwell High School baseball team will be honored prior to the Fort Wayne Wizards game at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Seattle Mariners affiliate).

Norwell completed their perfect season, a 35-0 year, with the Class 3A State Championship in early June.

The team was led by Jarrod Parker, the ninth-overall pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks organization in the Major League-Minor League Baseball Draft. Parker was 12-0 with a 0.10 earned run average, striking out 116 hitters in 70 innings.

Parker earned state recognition as Indiana's Mr. Baseball, awarded to the state's best player.

The Knights head coach, Kelby Weybright, was awarded the Doc Bolton Coach the Year Award and catcher Rhett Goodmiller was given the Chris Rood Junior of the Year Award.

Goodmiller, who had a 27-game hitting streak during the season, finished with a .515 average with 10 doubles, one triple, three home runs and 35 runs batted in.

Parker, Goodmiller and outfielder Scott Woodward were also members of the Indiana North All-Star team, which recently competed in the Indiana North-South All-Star game at Huntington University.

The Knights will be honored in a pre-game ceremony starting at 1:45 p.m.
