COMSTOCK PARK - After seven innings the Whitecaps led Quad Cities, 5-1 and were in line for their fourth win in a row. But the Swing sent 13 batters to the plate in the eighth inning and erupted for eight runs on the way to an 11-5 victory over West Michigan.

Christian Reyes collected five RBI in the eighth inning. Duane Below left the game in the sixth inning and allowed one run on five hits as the starting pitcher for the Whitecaps.

Phil Napolitan pitched a scoreless seventh inning with West Michigan in the lead, 5-1. But in the eighth, Napolitan allowed three consecutive hits to begin the frame including a three-run homer by Reyes, which pulled the Swing within one at 5-4.

Dan Fyvie then allowed five runs in two thirds of an inning of work, including the tying run on a sacrifice fly by Daryl Jones and the go ahead run on a single by Jared Schweitzer.

Casey Fien finished the inning, but surrendered a two-run single by Reyes.

The Swing added two runs against Fien in the ninth to provide the final margin of victory.

Three different Michigan natives pitched in the game: Below (Britton), Fyvie (Flint) and Swing reliever Jason Cairns (Traverse City).

West Michigan allowed a season-high 19 hits.
